Another well-maintained often under-stated hidden gem is Eaglehawk's Canterbury Park, home of the Dahlia Festival and nestled in the cosy little heart of Eaglehawk.
Heading from the centre of Bendigo head out towards Eaglehawk, up Eaglehawk Road for a few short minutes, it changes name to High Street once you reach Eaglehawk. Just past the lights, metres before the majestic Star Cinemas building, if you look to your right you will find Canterbury Park.

From the centre of Bendigo heading towards Epsom on the left side you will pass by Lake Weerooona. Many of us use the lake and surrounding park to enjoy a cool, relaxing atmosphere with friends and family. It is very well maintained year round. Barbecue facilities and undercover shelter are available and benches scattered throughout the park.
